Daylily Inwood, Hemerocallis 'Inwood', will add some pizzazz to your garden! 'Inwood' features lovely flowers of light creamy yellow with an apple green throat and bold purple eye zone. The flowers are also bordered by a dark purple picotee edge that is very striking. 'Inwood' has a white midrib that cuts through the purple eye on each of the petals for an added flare. Daylilies are some of the easiest plants to grow and are a good choice for any gardener. They will grow in almost any soil and handle drought to wet soil conditions. Use 'Inwood' for stand alone plantings, edging, in borders or in mixed containers and tubs. Planted together in large numbers, they quickly crowd out weeds and make a carefree and colorful ground cover. Daylilies can survive many harsh conditions that other plants cannot including: polluted city environments, slopes, poor and dry soils, near pavement that is salted in winter, and under Black Walnut trees (not affected by juglone). Echinacea Secret Desire (Coneflower), Echinacea 'Secret Desire', produces stunning, large double multicolored blooms of pink and orange. This mid-size plant, with beautiful aromatic flowers, is a vigorous grower and forms a plant quickly.  A mainstay in a garden, ‘Secret Desire’ is not a secret to gardeners any longer! It is a long lasting flower that attracts butterflies and hummingbirds and is great in cut flower arrangements! Clematis Patricia Ann Fretwell, Clematis 'Patricia Ann Fretwell™', is the first double flowering red and pink clematis! The outer tepals are reddish pink, fading to pale pink at the edges, the inner tepals are palest pink with a narrow deep pink stripe.  The stamens are creamy-white. The double flowers are on the old wood in May and June followed by single flowers on the new growth in September. Clematis 'Patricia Ann Fretwell™' needs a supporting structure to grow properly.  Clematis is easy to grow in a rich, porous, alkaline soil with plenty of room for the roots to spread. Best performance is when the tops are in full sunlight and the roots are shaded, so apply generous mulch or a shallow-rooted ground cover near the base of the vine. Lamium Ghost, Lamium maculatum 'Ghost', has a large mound of all silver leaves, which becomes is a great backdrop for its attractive clusters of bright orchid purple flowers! Lamium 'Ghost', introduced by Intrinsic Perennial Gardens, stands 1' tall and the leaves are large, measuring 1.5 long compared to .5 - .75 long on the other varieties. 'Ghost' is an excellent groundcover and is also deer and rabbit resistant. Lamium prefers a semi-shady dry area with well-drained soil, but will tolerate a wide range of soils and moisture; do not allow it to dry out.  It is best to cut this plant back after the first bloom to promote compact growth.   It disguises dying bulb foliage very well, and makes an excellent weed-smothering ground cover! Use Lamium in hanging baskets, in mixed containers, trailing over walls or as an edging, but spread must be controlled.   ‘Ghost’ looks great among hostas, ferns, lungworts, bulbs and wildflowers. The Thorndale English Ivy, Hedera helix 'Thorndale', has dark green foliage, like English Ivy, is cold hardy, and the leaves are larger than the species. It is a vigorous, evergreen, self-clinging or trailing vine with 3 to 5 lobed, glossy leaves with prominent veins. This ivy likes well-drained soil and makes a beautiful ground cover when established. Thorndale English Ivy will attach and grow up brick walls, but can be used in hanging baskets, or as a houseplant. It is very hardy and trouble-free, though it should never be allowed to grow up the trunks of trees. Major pruning should be done in early spring.
