Dwarf Alberta Spruce
The Dwarf Alberta Spruce, Picea glauca 'Conica', is a miniature Spruce with bright green foliage that is densely branched, slow growing tree that retains a perfect conical shape without trimming. The Dwarf Alberta Spruce is a small, cone- shaped tree that grows very slowly (2 to 4 inches per year) and rarely needs pruning. Its dense, bright green foliage makes it attractive. It is primarily a specimen plant and is often used as a container plant. It does need protection from the winter sun in exposed sites in zone 4. If planted farther south, summer heat and humidity are not to its liking, so try to locate it where it gets some afternoon shade but otherwise good light. The north or east side of the house is probably the best location. Make sure it's planted in a fertile, well-drained soil that is not allowed to get too dry during the summer. This is an excellent plant for adding structure, color and texture to your yard or garden. And if you have a small area, try this one in containers for that special place in your garden or patio.

Native American Plum - DetailsNative American Plum - Sale Price: $57.05
The Native American Plum tree, ‘Prunus americana’, is also known as the Native Plum, Hedge Plum, Sloe or Wild Plum. Native American Plum trees are small, deciduous, single trunk trees or a multi-stemmed shrub which occurs in rocky or sandy soils in woodlands, pastures, abandoned farms, streams and hedgerows. This deciduous tree typically grows to 15-25' tall with a broad, spreading crown. As a shrub, it suckers freely and can form large colonies. The 2 to 5 inch white flowers appear in early spring before the foliage appears. Flowers are followed by edible, round, red plums with bright yellow pulp which ripen in early summer. This species is usually grown for ornamental value and not for fruit production, however. Although the plums can be eaten raw, the quality is somewhat poor. The fruits are perhaps better used for preserves and jellies. The leaves turn yellow to red in autumn for great fall color. Branches and twigs are an attractive dark reddish-brown. Wildlife is attracted to the sweet fruits. Ours are sold as a multi-stem shrub form. * Fall Color * Attracts Wildlife * Early Spring Flowers

Dawn Redwood - DetailsDawn Redwood - Sale Price: $78.50
Fast-Growing Massive Tree The Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia glyptostroboides) is a massive, fast-growing tree.  It would look great as a shade tree in your yard or as a street planting.  It would also look attractive as a container plant on your patio while it’s still small. The Dawn Redwood is the shortest of the Redwoods, but can still grow up to 200 feet in height.    It can be quite easy to grow, so you won’t have to spend much of your time on care or maintenance. Despite its massive size, the Dawn Redwood has a gentleness about it.  Run the foliage through your fingers.  You’ll experience its soft and fern-like texture, so unlike what you might expect from a large deciduous tree.  The foliage begins as light green in the spring, transforming to deep green in the summer.  The leaves turn a lovely reddish-bronze before their autumn descent in preparation for a winter rest. The Redwood has horizontal branching that continues all the way to the ground, affording it a stately pyramidal presence in your yard.  If you prefer ground clearance though, it adapts well to being trimmed a bit.   The Redwood is an ancient tree known to have been in existence as long as 50 million years ago, but is currently on the endangered list in the wild.  Growing a Dawn Redwood is a pleasure in and of itself, but growing one on your property is also an investment in the future. * Fast growing* Massive size* Hardy

Crimson King Maple - DetailsCrimson King Maple - Sale Price: $92.75
Shade Tree with Outstanding Color  By far the most outstanding feature of the Crimson King Maple is its summer leaf color. While other homeowners have to wait until fall for their Maples to display vivid colors, your Crimson King will do so all summer long. Its star-shaped, classic Maple leaves are an engaging deep purple-maroon that stands out amid the usual greens of the summer landscape. As an added bonus, your Crimson King will be dotted with petite yellow flowers in the spring to the delight of the neighborhood’s butterflies and bees. Seeds will later develop, with a two winged structure that is as entertaining as it is useful. Their enchanting descent to the ground, spinning on the autumn breeze is a sight to behold…if the birds don’t snatch them up first. When fall arrives your Crimson King’s purple foliage will give one last burst of color as its dark purple shade transform into a bronze hue. The Crimson King Maple can grow up to 50 feet tall with a 30 foot spread to its symmetrical, oval form. It’s a particularly hardy Maple. It’s easily transplanted, tolerates shade, drought and many other conditions well, including urban environments. A dense shade tree with dramatic uncommon color, the Crimson King Maple is a must-have for any home that wants to stand out from the rest. * Unique leaf color * Spring flowers * Wildlife interest

Shademaster Honeylocust - DetailsShademaster Honeylocust - Sale Price: $107.05
The Shademaster Honeylocust tree, ‘Gleditsia triacanthos inermis’, may also be called sweet-locust or thorny-locust. This deciduous tree is a moderately fast growing tree commonly found on moist bottom lands or limestone soils. Because it has proven very hardy and tolerant of drought and salinity, it is widely planted for windbreaks and soil erosion control. It is a fast growing tree with good trunk. It has a more or less rectangular outline formed by the upright ascending branches which then spread horizontally. It is an excellent street and lawn tree because it is thornless and seedless. The dark green foliage turns yellow for great fall color. This variety has been planted to replace the elm in many urban areas. The leaves are fine textured, medium green in color and seldom need raking because of their fine texture. * Fall color * Fast-Growing * Seedless
