Euonymus - Golden The Euonymus 'Golden', Euonymus japonicus 'Aureo-marginatus', is a moderate to rapid growing, compact, and well branched shrub to 5 feet tall. It has shiny green leaves with wide, irregular, and bright gold margins. 'Golden' is extremely showy for specimens or formal hedges. This Euonymus can handle a wide variety of conditions and even does well in coastal areas; prefers full sun with average moisture. It can be maintained at virtually any height, shape, or size with pruning. Small greenish-white flowers are usually followed by round pink fruits.
