Gaillardia - Arizona Sun The Blanket Flower, Arizona Sun, Gaillardia 'Arizona Sun', is extremely eye catching in any perennial garden. From the early summer on, very showy banded flowers blanket this plant; ends of the petals have a torn, ruffled appearance The beautiful bright red petals are tipped in gold and surround the orange and yellow central cone! ‘Arizona Sun’ will flower from June through autumn, and this gaillardia thrives in hot sunny sites and need well drained soil. It forms a neat mound of lance-shaped, grayish-green leaves. Deer and rabbits tend to avoid this particular Gaillardia, but near the end of the season, leave spent flower heads for seed to attract goldfinches!
