Holly - Castle Wall The Holly Castle Wall, 'llex x 'Castle Wall' (PP14,308), a Proven Winners selection, is one of the new blue evergreen hollies that are great for foundation plants. Castle Wall is compact and pyramidal in form. The narrow form makes them great for hedges, foundation plantings, or as a specimen. The lustrous green foliage provides season long interest. Castle Wall is the male plant used to pollinate the Castle Spire Holly, which is the female plant. This holly is very adaptable to wet soils, whether light or heavy soils. If you have a saturated areas this holly is most likely to succeed in the boggy conditions. Use this plant in groupings, massing, borders, screens, or hedges. In colder climates, protect this broadleaf evergreen from winter sun or winds. Zones 5-9
