Hosta - Climax
The Hosta Climax, Hosta 'Climax', is a large sport of Hosta 'High Noon' with round leaves that are moderately corrugated.  The color of the leaves is a striking medium green and is trimmed with golden yellow margins. Climax presents a more upright habit and a beautiful vase shape with light lavender flowers.  Holding its color until late fall, its tall flower scapes, and broad, variegated leaves fill a niche in garden design that few other plants can achieve! ‘Climax’ is a low care perennial that is ideal for shady areas. This hosta grows best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. High-filtered or dappled sunlight is necessary for clean, healthy growth.  Morning sun is tolerable and will help to intensify the leaf colors, but hot afternoon sun is usually deadly to hostas.  Hostas also grow well in city environments where the air may be polluted by car exhaust, etc. With its colorful variegated and broad leaves, this hosta will perform until late fall! * Low maintenance * Tall scapes * Vase-shaped form
