Hosta - Deja Blu
Hosta - Deja Blu Hosta Deja Blu, Hosta 'Deja Blu', is an intriguing new sport of Hosta 'Blue Boy'. It has blue-green foliage, with a cream lightning bolt, that dances between the center of the leaf and the chartreuse green margin. The four colored leaves are very striking! Being the bluest hosta in your garden, it will produce light lavender flowers that add even more color to this plant in mid-summer. It is a low care perennial that is ideal for a slightly sunny area. This hosta grows best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5. Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. 'Deja Blu' needs high-filtered or dappled sunlight which is necessary for clean, healthy growth. Morning sun is tolerable and will help to intensify the leaf colors, but hot afternoon sun is usually deadly to hostas! Hostas also grow well in city environments where the air may be polluted by car exhaust, etc. With each leaf showing off four bright colors, 'Deja Blu' becomes quite an impressive hosta! * Low maintenance * Bluest hosta * Mounded habit
