Hosta - Fireworks
Hosta Fireworks, Hosta 'Fireworks' (PP#16,062), is a dwarf, narrow margined, small sport of Hosta 'Loyalist'.  It has very unique, upright foliage! The creamy white leaves of 'Fireworks' are very narrow and have a two-tone green margin that streak around the edges.  At only 10 high, Hosta 'Fireworks' is perfect for the smaller garden.  The very pretty light lavender flowers appear on 12 inch scapes in midsummer.  Add a small sized blast of thick green and white leaves to your garden with this hardy hosta, and it will regale you with delicate lavender flowers in early summer! This low care perennial is ideal for shady positions.  'Fireworks' grows best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. High-filtered or dappled sunlight is necessary for clean, healthy growth.   Morning sun is tolerable and will help to intensify the leaf colors, but hot afternoon sun is usually deadly to hostas! 'Fireworks' is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plant. With its incredible two-toned foliage, this charming, small hosta will certainly be outstanding in a small shaded area! * Dwarf * Hardy * Upright habit
