Clematis - Blue Angel - Sale Price: $42.75 Clematis Blue Angel, Clematis 'Blue Angel™', is a heavenly beauty, a prolific bloomer, and an exquisite climber. One of our favorites! The ruffled petals are sky blue along the edges and get lighter towards the center. The bright yellow stamens contrast nicely with the silky blue 6 flowers. Blue Angel received the Word of Recommendation by the judging committees of the Royal Boskoop Horticultural Society in Holland and the gold medal at 'Planetarium' in Boskoop in 1992. Clematis 'Blue Angel™' needs a supporting structure to grow properly but will also grow over large shrubs, over walls, cover stumps, and make perfect cover ups for unsightly service areas. Clematis is easy to grow in a rich, alkaline soil with plenty of room for the roots to spread. Best performance is when the tops are in full sunlight and the roots are shaded, so apply a generous mulch or a shallow-rooted ground cover near the base of the vine. Cooler soils temperatures increase performance! This plant is a very reliable performer once established; they will take a season or two to get going. Hosta - Sleeping Beauty - Sale Price: $39.95 Hosta Sleeping Beauty, Hosta 'Sleeping Beauty', is a sport of the award winning Hosta 'Halcyon' and is one of our favorites! The pointed, frosty blue-green leaves are complemented by a lovely creamy margin.  Hosta 'Sleeping Beauty' is a superb grower with thick, slug resistant foliage; pale lavender blue flowers appear in mid-summer.  Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails.  Plant this low care plant in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves. 'Sleeping Beauty'' is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plant. Hosta - Halcyon - Sale Price: $56.95 Gardeners are always looking for two things: 1) shade plants and 2) blue plants. The Halcyon Hosta is made for the shade and is the most interesting frosty ocean-blue color, earning it the 1997 Award of Merit (AGM). It’s a vigorous (but slower) grower with ribbed, spear-shaped foliage that sits underneath white-to-lavender bell-shaped flowers from July to August — but the real show is the foliage itself. Slug-resistant, attracts hummingbirds during blooming. Halycon Hosta grows in the familiar “fountain” mound shape to about 2’ tall and wide, and prefers full shade in a moist but well-drained spot. Also known as funkia or plantain lily, Hosta Halcyon is a reliable winner that requires little attention. Spectacular when planted in shade borders, around large shade trees and even in large containers. One of the best hostas available. Zones 4-8.
