Juniper - Spartan Spiral
  Juniper - Spartan Spiral Juniper - Spartan Spiral, Juniperus chinensis 'Spartan Spiral', is a narrow, pyramidal evergreen with dark mint green foliage.  Spartan Spiral is a dense, rapid grower and makes an excellent sheared topiary, screen or windbreak; perfect for a tight spot where you want some height.  It can be trimmed into a tight spiral, Spartan provides a wonderful vertical accent with rich green foliage that has both wedge-shaped juvenile leaves and scale-like adult leaves.  This durable juniper should be trimmed twice yearly to maintain shape and desired height. If you plant it in a spacious, quality heavyweight concrete or ceramic container, you can then gradually shape as you see fit.  Tolerating heat, cold and drought, it is also deer resistant.
