Russian Cypress
Russian Cypress, Microbiota decussata, is an extremely hardy, low growing evergreen that resembles the horizontal type junipers, but has the bright green soft foliage like an arborvitae. The foliage develops a showy bronze color in the winter. It matures at about 1foot tall by 6 feet wide, although it can get taller and much wider. It has a radiating mat growth habit and a rather slow growth rate. Russian Cypress likes full sun to partial shade, and its best performance occurs in partial sun in moist, well-drained soils. It is very adaptable to poor, dry, thin soils in sun and wind exposed sites. It can be used as a woody groundcover for foundations, wall plantings where it can cascade, group or mass plantings, raised planters, and embankments.

Sumac - Rocky Mountain - DetailsSumac - Rocky Mountain - Sale Price: $92.75
The Rocky Mountain Sumac, Rhus glabra cismontana 'Rocky Mountain', is a suckering, thicket-forming plant with small upright tree-like branches. On female plants, yellow-green flowers are followed by bright-red, hairy berries in erect, pyramidal clusters which persist throughout winter. It can be used as a “specimen thicket” in industrial landscapes and is quite valuable for adding a tropical, lush look to a xeric garden. In a planned landscape, the species is most effective when drifts or colonies, typical of natural settings, are allowed to establish. The colonies can be rejuvenated every few years by cutting them to the ground in mid-winter. 'Rocky Mountain' Sumac will grow in dry waste areas, such as impossible slopes where even junipers struggle. It is fast growing, generally pest and disease-free, and drought-tolerant.

Hydrangea - Phantom - DetailsHydrangea - Phantom - Sale Price: $99.95
The Hydrangea Phantom, Hydrangea paniculata 'Phantom', produces massive, dense conical flower clusters at the ends of the branches, which look like the Hydrangea ‘Limelight' on steroids! The large flower heads on this Peegee type hydrangea start out ivory and progress to white with pinkish tips. Tending to be a bit leggy and with a two foot clearance from the ground, Phantom hydrangea will grow to be about 10 feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 10 feet; suitable for planting under power lines. This hydrangea shrub performs well in both full sun and full shade. It shouldn't be allowed to dry out so the soil needs to be kept moist. Being highly tolerant of urban pollution, Phantom will even thrive in inner city environments. It is best to apply thick mulch around the plant to protect it in exposed locations or colder zones. Producing the fullest flower heads of any hydrangea, Phantom has stems that are much sturdier and thicker than other past hydrangea and does not flop under the heavy weight of its oversized blooms. This multi-stemmed deciduous shrub will certainly standout in any landscape either as an accent plant or when planted in mass!
