The Summer Glow Tamarisk, Tamarix ramosissima 'Summer Glow', (Formerly called T. pentandra 'Summer Glow') displays fuzzy, hot pink flower spikes all summer and has an interesting wispy foliage effect that is lacy, silvery blue. The airy plumes of hot pink flowers rise above the foliage from early to late summer! A fast growing, rather open shrub, it reaches height of 8-10'. It is a very vigorous, loose and open growing tree; extremely tolerant of dry, alkaline or salty soils; grows in sun or shade.  Its fruit is not ornamentally significant, and the smooth gray bark is not particularly outstanding. To prevent dehydration and start buds to break on Tamarisk, the freshly potted plants should be trimmed back one-third and started under greenhouse conditions, that is, warmth and high humidity conditions. With its upright spreading habit of growth and extremely fine and delicate texture, .use Summer Glow Tamarisk as an outstanding accent in your landscape! * Airy pink plumes * Salt tolerant * Vigorous grower
