The Tulip 'Monsella', 'Tulipa double early', is a fall planted bulb. This tulip is a fragrant sport of Monte Carlo. Monsella is canary-yellow, feathered blood-red, while the inside is sulphur-yellow with blood-red flames. As their name implies, double early tulips bloom early in the season with long-lasting, rose-like double flowers which open flat in the full sun. When planted in a compact group, these short-stemmed tulips develop into a magnificent carpet of color. Combine them with early daffodils and hyacinths for a wonderful welcome to spring. These tulips bloom in early spring for a 3 week period. For the best effects, plant the bulbs in clusters of 5 to 15 bulbs of one variety, or scatter clusters throughout the garden or flower border. Tulips do best in well-drained soil. It is advisable not to plant tulips in the same location in the garden year after year. If possible, plant in a somewhat sheltered location. Tulips are excellent for mass planting, rock gardens, containers and borders.

Peony - Sarah Bernhardt - Bulbs - DetailsPeony - Sarah Bernhardt - Bulbs - Sale Price: $42.75
The Peony 'Sarah Bernhardt', 'Paeonia', a fall planted bulb, is one of the most popular Double Peonies. This gorgeous variety produces large, soft pink flowers, of perfect form with a delightful fragrance. They produce superb, long lasting cut flowers. During late spring-early summer, they fill the garden with fragrance. They will bloom 3 to 4 weeks in late spring. The Peony tolerates some drought but thrives in moist, fertile, well-draining soil. If your soil is extremely acid, add some lime at planting time. Plant the roots with the eyes (buds) pointing up and place them 1 below the soil level. Peonies usually take a few years to establish and bloom heavily. Staking is recommended. Peonies attract butterflies and are great cut flowers and borders. They are also deer, rabbit, and squirrel resistant. For a tidy appearance, remove spent flowers after blooming. After a heavy frost, cut the foliage to the ground and remove from the area.
