Arborvitae - Grune Kugel, Thuja plicata 'Grune Kugel', is a Western Red Cedar that grows slowly into a small neat mound, with shiny mint-green foliage. Grune Kugel forms a dense, lush shrub that can be used to line walkways, in the front of shrub borders, or plant in groups to fill small areas. It is easy to grow and useful for many landscapes! The tips of Grune Kugels foliage turns a bronze cast in winter which protects from winter winds. This shrub needs regular watering weekly, or more often in extreme heat. Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system.
