Barberry - Thornless
The Thornless Barberry, Berberis thunbergii 'Thornless', is an “almost thornless” selection of green-leaved barberry. Its habit is globe-like and it is a nice addition to the barberries. This barberry is a compact, rounded form of Japanese green barberry. Its bright green summer foliage changes to shades of red in the fall. A thicket of spiny twigs and red fruit provides many landscape possibilities. When its deep green color turns to shades of red, orange and yellow, Thornless Barberry will give your fall landscape a bright and stunning color! This barberry is excellent as a low hedge or accent plant. It is useful for barrier planting and tolerates most light exposures and soils.
