Boxwood - Golden Dream
The Boxwood 'Golden Dream', Buxus microphylla 'PEERGOLD', is a compact, rounded shrub with bright green foliage edged in a golden yellow; the brilliant color of 'Golden Dream' is most pronounced in full sun. This slow-growing evergreen will reach 2 feet tall at maturity and thrives in moist, well-drained soil. Very small, creamy yellow flowers develop in small clusters in April until May and are quite fragrant. This plant can be used for anything from a low growing hedge to a nice, neat, accent in any garden. 'Golden Dream' prefers slightly cooler, moist soils with good drainage. Mulch applied around the plant will keep the soil conditions very favorable. The plant is deer resistant, and cut branches are long-lived in flower arrangements.
