Its fragrant white flowers grow up to 0.5 inches across and continues to bloom late summer through fall.  The white, citrus-scented flowers fade into feathery seed heads, and last until winter. Sweet Autumn prefers loamy, somewhat moist, well-drained soil. Provide a location where its head is in the sun and toes in the shade. Mulch around bottom to keep ground temperatures cool and moist.  Give direct sun to encourage their large, showy blooms, but it will tolerate some shade. Lamium 'Ghost', introduced by Intrinsic Perennial Gardens, stands 1' tall and the leaves are large, measuring 1.5 long compared to .5 - .75 long on the other varieties. The ruffled petals are sky blue along the edges and get lighter towards the center. The bright yellow stamens contrast nicely with the silky blue 6 flowers. Blue Angel received the Word of Recommendation by the judging committees of the Royal Boskoop Horticultural Society in Holland and the gold medal at 'Planetarium' in Boskoop in 1992. Clematis 'Blue Angel™' needs a supporting structure to grow properly but will also grow over large shrubs, over walls, cover stumps, and make perfect cover ups for unsightly service areas. Clematis is easy to grow in a rich, alkaline soil with plenty of room for the roots to spread.
