Joey Tomocik Water Lily
The vibrant yellow of this water lily makes others look pale by comparison because it has the deepest yellow blooms of all the yellow lilies!   It is no wonder that experts voted this “Hardy Waterlily of 2005.” It was dedicated by Dr. Kirk Strawn in 1993 to Joe Tomocik of the Denver Botanical Gardens, who named it for his daughter. Its flowers are held several inches above emerald green leaves. The yellow flowers are 4-5 inches wide, the leaves are 8-10 inches wide, and the overall plant spread is 4-5 feet wide. This extremely adaptable plant grows best in full to partial sun, will survive winter climates, and is equally at home in a tub or a large pond! We recommend growing ‘Joey Tomocik’ in a 7.5 quart or larger container (available from naturehills.com).  Also available from naturehills.com is Aquatic Planting Media and Lilytabs Water Lily Fertilizer. Cannot be shipped to: CA, MT, OR, WA or WY. ‘Joey Tomocik’ blooms as early as May, ends in Octobe, and makes a beautiful addition to any pond or water garden!   * Vibrant yellow flowers * Hardy * Long blooming

Hemerocallis Nosferatu, Hemerocallis 'Nosferatu', shows off its huge, broad triangle-shaped petals!   It has fragrant 6 flowers that have a shiny dark purple color. These ruffled blossoms prove to hold their color in the sun and have more prominent veining in their purple petals. ‘Nosferatu’ blooms mid season, has a very high bud count, is an easy to grow variety, and will stand up to even the harshest of conditions. This daylily is a semi evergreen tetraploid.  Individual flowers last only one day, but since each plant produces many buds, the total blooming time of a well-established clump may last more than a month; attracts butterflies. Use ‘Nosferatu’ daylily for color in shrub borders and in perennial beds.  Once established, the daylily can be an excellent groundcover on slopes because it has roots that hold soil against erosion.  Divide every 3-5 years, or when the number of flower buds and the size of bloom begin to decline.   Plant daylilies in sites that provide well-drained soil and plenty of sun. Individual flowers last only one day, but since each plant produces many buds, the total blooming time of a well-established clump may last more than a month.   The ‘Nosferatu’ daylily can survive many harsh conditions that other plants cannot including: polluted city environments, slopes, poor and dry soils, near pavement that is salted in winter, and under Black Walnut trees (not affected by juglone). Grass - Variegated Feather Reed - DetailsGrass - Variegated Feather Reed - Sale Price: $29.95
Grass - Variegated Feather Reed, Calamagrostis acutiflora 'Overdam', displays white and green leaves, and its smaller size makes it more refined than 'Karl Forester'. In some ways, it is even more pleasing than its big brother, Karl. It has medium blade width and flowers in June through July. It will most likely remain upright throughout the winter. Variegated Feather Reed does well in heavy clay soils, unlike many of the other ornamental grasses. It provides an excellent vertical accent for borders and for narrow spaces in the landscape. It is also effective in moist low spots or on pond/stream banks. With ample moisture it will do well in full sun, but likes a little shade in hot climates. Variegated Feather Reed works well as a specimen, or incorporated into a border and makes a good low screen, especially in somewhat shady areas. Use as a backdrop for roses and other perennials. It should be cut back in early spring, just before the new growth starts. Create your own dried arrangement, because this grass does make a wonderful display for your favorite vase or basket! * Variegated * Accent plant
