Coreopsis Star Cluster (Tickseed), Coreopsis 'Star Cluster', grows 18-24” tall, is compact, and a well-branched plant. The healthy bright green foliage of this coreopsis remains attractive all season. ‘Star Cluster’ delivers a profusion of creamy white flowers with gold button centers; has continuous and colorful blooms from early summer through early fall,  and no deadheading is necessary! This coreopsis makes an amazing colorful specimen in containers.  A generous bloomer, ‘Star Cluster’ also presents an outstanding show when planted in a mass or in front of borders. As the weather cools, a deep purple eye appears on each flower with a purple edge along each petal.  Butterflies find it irresistible and deer leave it alone. The Coreopsis ‘Crème Brulee’ is new to the market and has bright deep yellow flowers that blooms from June through October.  Belonging to the Tickseed family, ‘Crème Brulee’ has larger flowers than most Coreopsis in its family. (PPAF) ‘Crème Brulee’ has a plant height of 24” and a spread of 18”.  The bright green thread leaf foliage makes a great contrast with the flower color.  The large flowers occur all along the stems rather than just above the foliage, giving a fuller overall appearance. ‘Crème Brulee’ should be planted in full sun.  It is drought-tolerant and tough but does need well-drained soil.  The foliage is mildew-resistant and should be cut backing early and late summer to extend the bloom period. A perfect sun-loving plant, it looks great with any type of grass, in borders or mass plantings in sunny gardens. The Hosta Tropical Dancer, Hosta 'Tropical Dancer', puts on a colorful show with its heart-shaped wavy green leaves. These elongated leaves are trimmed with creamy white margins that are tightly ruffled and serrated; margins brighten to white later in the season. Forming a broad showy clump in the garden, ‘Tropical Dancer’ is a strong grower and produces lavender flowers on upright scapes in the summer. Plant this low care plant in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves.  ‘Tropical Dancer’ is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plant. The Little Joe-Pye Weed, 'Eupatorium purpureum', is a wonderful lavender purple bloomer that stands 4’ tall with a plant spread the 29-35”.  The “Little Joe’ plant has dark green leaves, and by midsummer it is covered with dome-shaped heads of lavender flowers.   Having a more compact growing habit, it produces 4' tall and stiff stems to prevent flopping later in the year.  Not only does “Little Joe’ grow to a manageable size in the garden, but its dwarf stature keeps the butterflies at eye level for our enjoyment!  ‘Little Joe-Pye Weed’ is more compact and shorter than other perennials in its family.  With beautiful wine red stems that develop large green leaves, it is a definite attractor to butterflies and bees, and it is deer resistant. The Iris ‘Caesar's Brother’, Iris siberica, has rich, deep intense blue flowers with slightly bluish-green leaves.  Blooming from late spring into summer, it has a plant height of 36” and a spread of 18-24”. Iris ‘Caesar's Brother’ is one of the most easily grown Iris’.  It prefers moist, well-drained soil in full sun, but will tolerate some afternoon shade.  This Iris needs plenty of water throughout the season to looks its best.  It can also tolerate a poor, dry soil because its thick roots penetrate the soil deeply. Iris ‘Caesar’s Brother’ is useful in many ways and is best used around pools, ponds and water gardens, and for mass plantings.  It can be planted on difficult banks and prevent erosion. They  make magnificent cut flowers and are resistant to deer.
