Daylily - Kokomo Sunsetâ„¢
The Daylily 'Kokomo Sunset', Hemerocallis 'TP 06-02', is an early-blooming daylily that has 4 inch wide, deep golden blooms with burgundy-red eyes. The blooms have a light ruffled edge and a green throat. Because it has a long bloom season and multiple flowering cycles, the 'Kokomo Sunset' is perfect for mass planting and perennial beds! 'Kokomo Sunset' has short, grassy foliage, clean shedding of old blooms, prolonged reblooming that extends the season, and rapid increase of divisions.  Compact plants and short flower scapes and foliage of this daylily eliminate blow-over in garden centers common to taller daylilies. This daylily matures to 14-18 inches tall and the flowering begins 6 to 8 weeks earlier than standard commercial varieties, and the flowers develop even during cooler weather and cold nights! Daylilies will grow in almost any soil and handle drought to wet soil conditions.  In areas that receive less than 6 hours of sun during the day, your daylilies will probably produce fewer and smaller blooms, and the foliage may not be as robust. These plants can survive many harsh conditions that other plants cannot including: polluted city environments, slopes, poor and dry soils, near pavement that is salted in winter, and under Black Walnut trees (not affected by juglone). As a gardener, you will be captivated by the colorful display of this marvelous daylily, and how 'Kokomo Sunset' has such a wide range of soil and – and cool weather tolerance! * Short flower scapes * Compact foliage * Early bloomer

Hosta - Queen of the Seas - DetailsHosta - Queen of the Seas - Sale Price: $39.95
Hosta Queen of the Seas, Hosta 'Queen of the Seas', lets you make a statement in your garden.  This new dynamic, vibrant, blue hosta has a tall, upright form and forms a huge 48” clump! The 'Queen of the Seas' displays large, blue-green leaves that have wavy pie-crust margins, and are heart shaped. The near white flowers are produced in early to midsummer. Hosta 'Queen of the Seas' won the Best of Show award at the 1997 American Hosta Society national convention! In midsummer, the 'Queen of the Seas' clumps are topped with 3' spikes of lavender flowers.  In warmer southern zones, the color may deepen to green in summer. Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails.  Plant this low care plant in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves.  'Queen of the Seas' is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plants. If you want to add some architectural interest and color to your shade garden, be sure to include 'Queen of the Seas'! * Upright form * Wavy edged leaves * Heart shaped leaves

Grass - Burgundy Bunny - DetailsGrass - Burgundy Bunny - Sale Price: $51.35
Pennisetum Burgundy Bunny, Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Burgundy Bunny', is a warm season grass, so where temperatures get colder than -10 degrees F, this plant is considered an annual. Warm-season grasses need warm soil to begin their growth, so Burgundy Bunny won't start growing until mid to late spring or even early summer. This miniature fountain grass will turn shades of brown as the weather turns colder. Once this happens, and you live in an area where this grass will survive the winter, trim back to a few inches tall. You can leave the dried grasses and seed heads in your garden for winter interest; covered with snow, this ornamental grass can be quite striking. If this grass needs dividing, do so anytime in the spring through mid-summer. This miniature cutie exhibits an impressive display in containers or the front of the border. Burgundy Bunny forms a petite habit with narrow green leaves with a hint of red, and produces small tufted cream flower plumes in late summer. You will be delighted with its blazing red color in the fall! Red Fall Color!

Hibiscus Summer Storm (Rose Mellow), Hibiscus moscheutos 'Summer Storm', is continuously smothered with spectacular 10 wide, medium pink to rose-colored flowers, along with deeply-lobed luscious dark purple leaves.  Each flower has dark pink veining and a magenta eye that radiates through the petals! ‘Summer Storm’ puts on a fabulous show from midsummer to fall.  Moist soils are ideal, but this hibiscus is quite drought-tolerant.  All summer long you'll enjoy hundreds of these exotic flowers, along with the many butterflies, bees and hummingbirds that this plant attracts. This hardy hibiscus will die back to the ground every winter and emerge from the ground in the middle to late spring season; cut back to 4-6 from the ground in the spring.  It is root hardy and needs no protection.  Remove old canes to the ground in mid winter. Use ‘Summer Storm’ as an accent plant, landscape specimen, in mass plantings or rock gardens.  It grows well in any fertile, well-drained soil with ample moisture.  Do not allow to dry to the wilting point.  Be careful not to over-water until plants show signs of growth.  Be patient; hibiscus can be slow to emerge in spring.  For best performance, plant in full sun in moist soil, before the heat of the summer. This hibiscus is suitable for very large containers, but pots must be protected over winter.  ‘Summer Storm’ hibiscus needs little care once established, attracts butterflies, and it has some of the largest flowers of any perennial! * Large flowers * Drought tolerant * Hardy
