False Cypress - Tempelhof Hinoki
The Tempelhof Compact Hinoki Cypress, 'Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Tempelhof', is a vigorous grower, producing coarse foliage. It endures light shade well and its body will be noticeable thicker in full sun. The Hinoki Cypress has a pyramidal form with a loose habit. The golden-yellow outer foliage contrasts with the darker green inner foliage. This is an evergreen plant that is resistant to deer and rabbits. This beautiful small shrub is excellent for a foundation planting or placed front crawl spaces or utility boxes. This plant will provide an excellent background for perennials and be used as a border or hedge. The scale-like leaves remain green during the winter. It is a low maintenance shrub that needs very little pruning. Remove any dieback and only the new growth of the current season. Zones 4-8.

It is a well-branched plant with flowers forming flat clusters by mid-June, ranging from a mixed pink to white. This dense, mounded shrub has medium-green leaves that are oval and toothed. Thriving in a wide range of soils in sun or light shade, Shibori Spiraea is highly versatile and an ornamental that works well in mass plantings, mixed borders, and low informal hedges.
