Hosta - Vulcan - Sale Price: $42.75 The Hosta Vulcan, Hosta 'Vulcan', is an outstanding and classy hosta that creates a “wow” reaction! ‘Vulcan’ has broad, heart-shaped leaves with white centers.  The contrasting dark green margins have a lighter yellow coloring. With its eye popping color and vigorous growth habit, Vulcan is a standout in any shaded area! Having a mounding habit, this hosta also produces lovely light lavender flowers on white scapes in mid to late summer. Plant this low care plant in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves.  'Vulcan' is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plant. Geranium - Crane's Bill - Sale Price: $56.95 The Geranium 'Crane's Bill', Geranium sanguineum, is a hardy clump-forming perennial that produces rose-cerise colored flowers in late spring. (Also known as Bloody Cranesbill). This plant requires minimal care.  Providing well-drained soil is beneficial, and it is at home in almost any soil as along as its well drained. It needs to be planted in an area of full sun to partial shade and also must be cut down, after flowering, almost all the way to the ground. It is best to pinch rather heavily after flowering to encourage blooming throughout the summer.  'Crane's Bill' is actually an attractive plant all season, in or out of bloom.  The foliage is usually more distinctly cut than other geraniums, giving it a delicate appearance. 'Crane's Bill' can be a very useful weed smothering, tight knit, ground cover.   In a border or a rock garden, it is a lovely plant and striking when grown along a wall, with the stems and flowers tumbling over the edge! Geraniums are self seeding, fairly adaptable to short periods of dry conditions, and are free from pests and diseases. Grass - Porcupine - Sale Price: $99.95 The Grass 'Porcupine', Miscanthus sinensis 'Strictus', has green leaves with cream colored horizontal bands. These leaves make this ornamental grass stand out anywhere! Silvery white plumes rise 4 feet above the foliage in fall. The 'Porcupine' tolerates a wide range of soil types and is moderately drought tolerant. It will hold up to wind and snow. This grass has a rigid, upright habit and stiff, pointed leaf blades, some of which stick out at angles like porcupine quills. Use this plant as a specimen, for mass plantings, or plant next to ponds or pools. Water this grass regularly, mainly during the season when they are blooming, as you need to have well developed roots so that the grass can absorb enough nutrition from the soil. When clumps dry in the fall they add structural interest to the winter garden. In early spring remove the dead foliage before the plants begins new growth. Clumps may be divided every 3 years or so in early spring. It is deer resistant and has very has very little pest and disease issues. Tall, tough, and showy!

Astilbe - Fanal - Sale Price: $49.95 The Astilbe ‘Fanal’, Astilbe arendsii, is a colorful feathery flower with deep red blooms and lacy deep green or bronze-green foliage. The foliage in spring is mahogany, but as autumn approaches, the blooms turn to shades of brown that look wonderful in winter snowscapes. The flowers contrast wonderfully with the dark green glossy foliage.  Astilbe ‘Fanal’ blooms in midsummer and is 24” tall and a plant width of 18-24”.  Do not allow Astilbe ‘Fanal’ to dry out. 'Fanal' is most successfully grown in a shady area but can tolerate some morning sun.  A moist, well-drained area is a key factor for growing a healthy plant. In order to keep Astilbe looking good for the next year, do not cut it back in the winter, (the old foliage helps protect the plant from winter damage), but prune in early spring. Astilbe is considered to be deer resistant and will attract hummingbirds.  Use ‘Fanal’ Astilbe as beautiful cut flowers for a grand bouquet!   Plant it in perennial borders or shade gardens with hosta’s and ferns.
