Spiraea - Anthony Waterer - Sale Price: $28.95 The Spirea 'Anthony Waterer', Spiraea x bumalda 'Anthony Waterer', has flat-topped heads of rosy-pink flowers that cover the top of this dwarf shrub.  The flowers offer a striking contrast against the bright green foliage. The foliage is deciduous, and at first the leaves are a wine-red to maroon ,then in the fall, they mature into a dark green. Anthony Waterer Spirea is extremely variable in its variegation pattern since the leaves are willow-like and often variegated. This spirea is best suited to full sun conditions.  It is not particular about soil type but, like most shrubs, grows faster and blooms more profusely in richer soil. It has a compact habit that does not grow out-of-bounds. The golden tones reach the center of the plant resulting in less green color. The gold color intensifies in fall and winter. You cannot find a better color and contrast! This is an absolutely stunning juniper with its dark forest green foliage and showing a vibrant yellow color at the tips of its branches. The golden yellow coloration is best displayed in full sun locations, and will tone down considerably during the winter months. 'Gold Lace' is very hardy and has a moderate to fast growth. Western Sand Cherry - Sale Price: $64.25 Western Sand Cherry, prunus besseyi, displays attractive, single, white flowers in May, and then it produces an abundance of 3/4 purple-black sweet fruits.  They can be eaten fresh, dried, or processed as jellies and pies. This hardy rounded shrub has silver-green foliage.  Plant the shrub where it will be in direct sunlight for most or all of the day. Well-drained soil is best, but isn't an absolute requirement, as sand cherry is very adaptable to poor soil. It grows 5-6 feet in height and width, forming a rounded shape, and makes a great shrub for farmstead windbreaks.
