This vine is grown for its heart-shaped foliage, which opens purple and matures to bright green. It is marked with splashes of white and pink. Arctic Beauty's flowers, though fragrant, are inconspicuous since they are often hidden by the foliage. One male plant will pollinate 6 female plants. Grapelike berries are produced only by the female plant, are edible, and ripen in the fall. Train Arctic Beauty Male to cover a fence or arbor. It can grow to twenty feet, provides great texture, and adds a wonderful appearance to any landscape. Plant in sun to partial shade. The slender, weeping leaves are silvery-green and turn golden bronze in fall; a silver stripe runs up the middle of the sword-like green leaves. The flowers are white fan-shaped plumes in fall that extend above the foliage. The hardiness, the fine foliage and the spectacular fall colors have made 'Gracillimus' a favorite and very popular for years! Plant in spring or early summer when the soil is warm as the roots will grow only in warm soil. Planting too early in the spring may cause the roots to rot. Juniper - Sargent - Sale Price: $92.75 The Sargent Juniper, Juniperus chinensis 'Sargentii Viridis', is a rich green spreading evergreen that forms a dense carpet. The color of the foliage is consistent through the winter. The nice green color has just a hint of blue to it. This juniper makes an excellent ground cover and withstands heat and salt. It has long creeping feeler type branches that reminds you of starfish legs. 'Sargent' is a very hardy juniper and displays wind and drought tolerance. 'Sargent' does not get out of control and is fairly low maintenance. Use as a mid-level ground cover or in foreground plantings. It likes well drained soils like most all junipers.
