Hosta - Lakeside Beach Captain - Sale Price: $42.75 Hosta Lakeside Beach Captain, Hosta 'Lakeside Beach Captain', is a sport of Hosta 'Lakeside Shore Master' with very narrow chartreuse leaf centers.  The large, blue-green leaves are of heavy substance and are corrugated. Its foliage is of heavy substance and is corrugated, making it slug resistant.  On a mature plant, the smooth, heart-shaped leaves form an upright mound 45” across.  'Lakeside Beach Captain' is topped in late spring with 20 scapes of near white flowers and is a dynamite specimen plant! 'Lakeside Beach Captain' is a low care perennial and is ideal for shady positions and is one of the most popular for landscapes.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails. It grows well in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. Plant 'Lakeside Beach Captain' in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves. Grass - Maiden - Sale Price: $34.95 The Grass 'Maiden', Miscanthus sinensis 'Gracillimus', is a tall, graceful, clumping ornamental grass. The slender, weeping leaves are silvery-green and turn golden bronze in fall; a silver stripe runs up the middle of the sword-like green leaves. The flowers are white fan-shaped plumes in fall that extend above the foliage. The hardiness, the fine foliage and the spectacular fall colors have made 'Gracillimus' a favorite and very popular for years! Plant in spring or early summer when the soil is warm as the roots will grow only in warm soil. Planting too early in the spring may cause the roots to rot. Cut back the previous year’s growth before growth starts to appear in early spring.   'Gracillimus' has an arching shape and looks fabulous in the landscape as a specimen, screen or a nice mass of textured foliage; also looks great near a pond! It has an exceptional free flowering habit and long bloom time: from late June through September. ‘Barbara Harrington’ looks stunning when planted with climbing roses!  This clematis needs a supporting structure to grow properly but will also grow over large shrubs, over walls, cover stumps, and make perfect cover ups for unsightly service areas. 'Pumila' is a dwarf pampas grass with huge 18 inch feathery white plumes. The showy, silvery-cream plumes feel silky to the touch and are perfect for use in dried arrangements.  Cortaderia 'Pumila' is a very good grower and much more cold hardy than the species. 'Pumila' thrives in hot, full sun exposures and is especially useful as a specimen along walls and in corners. Plant it in moderately fertile soil with good drainage. Leave standing over the winter before cutting it back hard in early-spring. 'Pumila' is sterile and won’t re-seed itself. Protect crowns of young plants in winter. After this plant is established it can be divided in the spring. Use this plant as a border, mass plantings, dried flowers, for edging, and as a specimen. Beautiful and it is deer resistant!

Grass - Red Silver Maiden - Sale Price: $64.25 The Grass 'Red Silver' Maiden, Miscanthus sinensis 'Rotsilber', has arrow-like silvery foliage that is topped with red flowers in fall. It may also be known as Japanese Silver Grass. Its grassy leaves are green in color with pointy white spines. As an added bonus, the foliage turns a gorgeous gold in the fall.
