Being named Perennial of the Year in 1991, one can see why. With its unique deep purple foliage, fading to bronzy green in hot summers, and its dark red stems, it is a little different than the rest. In the springtime, small pinkish and white flowers appear that last into the summer, however, Coral Bells are not known for their flowers, but their foliage. ‘Palace Purple’ has a plant spread of 10-15” and a height of 12-18”.  It is best to grow it in medium wet, well-drained soils, in full shade. Dwarf Pampas Grass - Jet Streams - Sale Price: $64.25 The Dwarf Pampas Grass Jet Streams, Cortaderia selloana pumila 'Jet Streams', is a compact ornamental grass that is a great choice for smaller gardens.  This dwarf pampas displays beautiful, 6 foot, ivory plumes in the fall.  These plumes towers over a compact clumping grass. Hibiscus - Kopper King - USPP 10,793 - Sale Price: $49.95 The Hibiscus ‘Kopper King’, is the most popular variety of the Fleming Hibiscus.  Named by James Fleming himself, it has a plant height of 4’ and beautiful dinner-plate size 12” flowers! The flowers are white with red centers that fade to pink as they streak through the veination to the petal’s edge. The foliage took over 20 years to develop and refine and one can see why. Unlike most hibiscuses, ‘Kopper King’ has maple-cut, copper-red shaded leaves, with some leaves having copper on both sides. It is best to plant this Hibiscus in a full sun area, and it will tolerate most soil types.  ‘Kopper King’ looks wonderful with grasses, as a background plant or with Hibiscus ‘Old Yella’. It grows well in any fertile, well-drained soil with ample moisture. Do not allow to dry to the wilting point.  Be patient; hibiscus can be slow to emerge in spring; provide regular fertilization during this growing season.  For best performance, plant before the heat of the summer. ‘Kopper King’ is suitable for very large containers, but pots must be protected over winter.  Although the hibiscus grows tall, the need for staking is rare.  These plants will die back to ground level during the winter months.  Be careful to not over water until plants show signs of growth!
