Juniper Good Vibrations, Juniperus horizontalis 'Hegedus', is an ideal plant to look for if you want one for all seasons! This horizontal growing juniper emerges in spring with a chartreuse hue changing to bright yellow to orange in the fall. With its low growing horizontal spreading habit and soft foliage, Good Vibrations™ will lighten up your landscape with its dynamic and vibrant seasonal color changes. It is easy to grow and is drought tolerant. Good Vibrations can be used in rock gardens and is great in perennial borders or as a groundcover; plant on slopes to stop erosion. This easy care juniper tolerates most soils as long as they are not too wet. Good Vibrations tolerates hot, dry, sunny locations and urban conditions. It requires very little care, but if pruning is needed, do so in early spring.

Periwinkle, Vinca minor, is also known as Trailing Myrtle, Dwarf Periwinkle and Creeping Myrtle. This species of Periwinkle is one of the most popular and widely used ground covers. Trailing stems with smooth, evergreen leaves (to 1.5 long) root at the nodes as they go along the ground and quickly spread to form an attractive ground cover. Tubular, lavender blue, phlox-like flowers (to 1 inch across) appear in the leaf axils in spring and continue to flower intermittently throughout summer into fall. Foliage will mound up to 6 tall. Periwinkles are used as a versatile ground cover and provide good cover for bulb beds. Effective on slopes or banks to stabilize soils and prevent erosion. Easily grown in average, dry to medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. It tolerates full shade, but it prefers moist, humusy soils in part shade. Plant 12-18 apart to cover large areas. This evergreen perennial is similar in all ways to Vinca Major except the flower is a little smaller.

The Hosta Regal Supreme, Hosta 'Regal Supreme', displays its wavy, attractive frosty blue leaves on an upright vase-shaped plant.  Each leaf has a wide creamy yellow margin. As the summer progresses, the leaves’ colors change to blue-green with wide, creamy white margins.  This exciting hosta is topped by lavender flowers in mid through late summer on very tall scapes; hummingbirds will come often to visit! Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails.  Plant this low care plant in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves.  'Regal Supreme' is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plant.
