Privet - Regel - Sale Price: $57.05 The Regel Privet, Ligustrum obtusifolium var. regelianum, is a low shrub with spreading branches. The small fragrant white flowers are freely produced, followed by dark blue berries that persist into the winter. 'Regel' Privet works well as a specimen or in masses. It is a semi-evergreen to deciduous fast growing shrub. 'Regel' has an upright oval, to radiating rounded growth habit in youth, maturing to an arching vase growth habit with age. It can be pruned to create a formal hedge. 'Regel' Privet prefers moist, well-drained soils in full sun in humid southern environments, but is one of the better deciduous hedges for northern climates. It is highly adaptable to many urban stress situations.

Holly - Blue Prince - Sale Price: $56.45 Holly - Blue Prince, Ilex x meserveae 'Blue Prince', has shiny, deep lustrous hardy blue-green leaves that contribute to this variety's excellent form all season. Use as a pollinator for 'Blue Princess'. 'Blue Prince' and 'Blue Princess' need to be planted near each other in order to produce fruit; one 'Blue Prince' will pollinate many female hollies. Blue Prince makes a fantastic, thick hedge, growing to a maximum height of about 15', but can easily be pruned to a lower height. It needs good drainage and a rich, acid soil. Hollies are good companions for rhododendrons and azaleas, and they accept sun or partial shade. Some protection from winter winds and bright winter sun is preferred. Hollies cheer every winter landscape with their dark green leaves and bright red berries. They certainly are plants with year-round interest: blooms in the spring, berries in fall, and structure in winter. These plants display vibrantly colored textures in a variety of shapes and can be used as foundation plantings or massed in the shrub border.

The flowers have five petals and sepals and are usually borne in clusters. Many-flowered Cotoneaster is one of the few cotoneasters useful for its flowers. Many-Flowered Cotoneaster flowers bloom in early spring, and the fruit ripens in September through October. This upright shrub has a fountain-like weeping branch habit and prefers a moist, well-drained soil; tolerates alkaline soil. Cotoneasters are widely cultivated for their attractive growth habit, small white to pink flowers, and small but showy red to black fruit. Pussy Willow - Black - Sale Price: $49.95 Pussy Willow - Black, Salix gracilistylus ‘Melanostachys’ is a quick growing shrub with flowers/catkins that form along the stems of the plant. The procession of black catkins resembling little black caterpillars can range from a half-inch to two inches in length, starting small early in the season, then lengthening and changing color as they mature. The female catkins stay flat black until well-expanded, but males will add a fine-textured, silky red to orange staminate haze. Black Pussy Willow will spread aggressively by underground roots and above ground suckers, but you can prune this plant pretty severely to keep it in check. The nearly toothless leaves on the upper surface are deep green, the lower a soft gray-green. The leaves often take on a tattered appearance by fall; tree will occasionally produce a yellow fall color display. Although it does not like standing water, the Black Pussy Willow does like to have water nearby. Planting it in full sun will help keep some of the fungal problems in check. It is quite tolerant of many soil types as well as moderate road salt and pollution exposure. The branches, along with the catkins, can make elegant and divine bouquets.
