Dogwood - Red Twigged - Sale Price: $54.25 Whether you call it a Redtwig, Redstem, Redosier or Red Osier, this stunning dogwood’s red winter bark just make the winter a lot less dreary. It is perfect for a shady spot, near a tree line or on the north side of a house, but will do equally well in full sun as a hedge or in a group. Needs attentive watering; leaves can wilt in very hot sun, which may be mistaken for thirstiness. The red-twigged dogwood offers interest year-‘round: milky white flowers in spring, then soothing green foliage in spring and summer, cabernet-wine colored leaves in fall, and its signature deep red bark in winter. In early spring, cut the shrub back to four to six inches from the ground to ensure a perennial show of red stems over the coming winters. The clustered fruits are low in sugar, which birds seem to like more than deer; in fact, this shrub is the favored nesting place of American goldfinches. Zones 3-7. * Lots of winter interest!

'Mini Arcade' is lower and more spreading than 'Arcadia'. It displays a soft green color throughout the seasons and is tolerant of partial shade. 'Mini Arcade' is a moderate grower. The layered branching habit of this plant gives the subtle appearance of soft undulations in the ground beneath it. 'Mini Arcade' would serve nicely in a small Zen garden, with it's ability to suggest a forest of undulating green. This juniper does well in dry soils that are well drained, and it needs to have partial to full sun exposure.

Hydrangea - Late Panicle - Sale Price: $49.95 The Hydrangea 'Late Panicle', Hydrangea paniculata 'Tardiva', this shrub has white airy flowers that can reach 10-12 in length in late August. The flowers are a mixture of sterile and fertile flowers which gives the flowers less density and less likelihood to tip or droop. Flowers will turn bronze in fall. The flower heads will stay on the plant during much of the winter if conditions are not severe.  These shrubs are fast growing and are great for informal     screens, specimen plants, or for cut arrangements. Cut the flower heads when they are fully open and hang to dry in a warm, airy place. You may prune every year in the fall after blooming, no more than 1/3 of the plant.
