Boxwood - Green Velvet
The Boxwood 'Green Velvet, Buxus 'Green Velvet', also known as Boxwood, is a slow growing broadleaf evergreen that requires little care. With a plant height of 2-3' and a spread of 3', it does add color and texture to the landscape. Plant 'Green Velvet' in full shade to part sun, in a well-drained area. Boxwoods are tolerant of pruning and shearing, but avoid cultivating around this plant because they have very shallow roots. Remove dead and damaged branches annually to improve the air circulation. Plant in a sheltered location to protect it from cold winters and strong winds. The Green Velvet is a 1997 Styer Award Winner & 1998 Michigan Growers' Choice Award Winner. Zones 5-9. * Low Maintenance Plant!

Holly - Blue Princess - DetailsHolly - Blue Princess - Sale Price: $45.65
Ornamental Evergreen Shrub The Blue Princess Holly is an ornamental, evergreen shrub with year round interest. It would look outstanding as a foundation planting or shrub border in your yard. Your Blue Princess Holly is one of the best of the blue Holly cultivars. It was created by crossing a particularly lovely Holly plant with a very hardy one. The result is a Holly with superior color that is also nearly carefree and beautiful year round. Holly leaves are perhaps the most exquisite landscape foliage you’ll find, which is why the image of the Holly is so often used decoratively during the holiday season. It has long been displayed in homes as a symbol of good luck and protection, and was even considered sacred by the ancient Druids. The purple stems and blue-green hue of the leaves is just different enough from the usual summer greens that it will easily catch your eye. You’ll love how the glossy surface of each leaf reflects the rays of the sun and the wide-toothed edges of each leaf will certainly lend an elegant appearance to your landscape. Your Holly will produce tiny white flowers to herald in the spring, but it’s in the winter that it truly shines. The foliage will maintain its vibrant color throughout the winter, a striking contrast to your yard’s grays and browns. If you plant a Blue Prince Holly near it, you’ll also enjoy an abundance of bright red berries that tend to cling to the plant through the winter months. It would be a shame to miss these, as they stand out spectacularly against the snow, and the wildlife really enjoys them as well. Your Holly will grow up to 15 feet tall with a 10 foot spread. You can prune it if you like, but it will look great left to grow naturally. * Decorative foliage* Spring flowers* Winter berries

Barberry - Concorde - DetailsBarberry - Concorde - Sale Price: $32.95
Commonly known as Japanese Barberry, this compact little shrub’s burgundy-colored foliage is a dramatic —and welcome— contrast in a landscape dominated by green everything-else. ‘Concorde’ has very small teardrop-shaped leaves on thorny branches which form an orderly round plant that tops out at not much more than a couple of feet. Use ‘Concorde’ as a foundation planting or berm or border edging, and in any number of other small, sunny spaces where you need a plant of a different color. Full sun keeps the leaves their pretty royal purple color, which will gently turn deep red in the fall, and through the winter you’ll be treated to lovely red berries. A slightly acidic soil will benefit this slow-growing, pest-free shrub (which is also hypo-allergenic and resistant to deer, drought and disease). To tilt the pH, just tap a few nails into the soil under the shrub canopy. Pruning is only required to change its shape or overall size. Zones 4-8. There is always space for Concorde in any landscape, and it will look terrific in yours as well. Plant in full sun.

Rhododendron - Ingrid Mehlequist - DetailsRhododendron - Ingrid Mehlequist - Sale Price: $51.35
The Rhododendron 'Ingrid Mehlequist', Rhododendron 'Ingrid Mehlequist', is an evergreen shrub with a low and compact habit reaching 3 feet tall and 4 feet wide. This plant produces clusters of pink buds that open to reveal ruffled white blooms that shine against the dark green foliage. From a very young age, this ultra-hardy, compact cultivar offers big blooms in great trusses during May and June! Best performance is in light shade; afternoon sun should be avoided, particularly in Southern climates. Being a standout in any garden or landscape, this Rhododendron requires little pruning and even less maintenance. This plant is very fussy about soil conditions and it must have rich, acidic soils to ensure a healthy plant! Consider applying a thick mulch around the root zone in colder climates.
