Viburnum - Forest Rouge Blackhaw - Sale Price: $43.95 The Forest Rouge Blackhaw Viburnum, Viburnum prunifolium 'McKRouge', is a trademarked selection made by Dan Moore at Mckay Nursery. This shrub has a dense, more oval, upright branching form than the species.  The foliage emerges yellow green and ages to a dark, shiny green. It is grown for this glossy, fine, smooth, textured foliage. Dark red young stems are a lovely contrast to the emerging yellow-green foliage.   Clusters of creamy-white flowers appear in spring followed by bluish-black berries that persist through fall until winter.  The fall color starts early on plants that are in full sun, and they will hold late into the season.  The plant is appropriately named because the 'Forest Rouge Blackhawk' has an outstanding maroon fall color. Forest Rouge Blackhaw works well for wildlife or naturalizing areas. It requires part shade to full sun and prefers sandy loam to some clay, but does best on well-drained sites with better than average moisture. * Outstanding fall color * Berries for wildlife

Juniper - Mini Arcade - Sale Price: $92.75 The Mini Arcade Juniper, J. sabina 'Mini Arcade', is a compact selection of 'Arcadia' with excellent, feathery foliage. 'Mini Arcade' is lower and more spreading than 'Arcadia'. It displays a soft green color throughout the seasons and is tolerant of partial shade. 'Mini Arcade' is a moderate grower. The layered branching habit of this plant gives the subtle appearance of soft undulations in the ground beneath it. 'Mini Arcade' would serve nicely in a small Zen garden, with it's ability to suggest a forest of undulating green. This juniper does well in dry soils that are well drained, and it needs to have partial to full sun exposure.

Witch-hazel - Common - Sale Price: $64.25 The Common Witch-Hazel, Hamamelis virginiana, is extraordinary in its flowering habits. It flowers in late October to early December. Many times its slender yellow petals are the only signs of color in the dormant woods. Witch-hazel is pollinated by the winter moth. After pollination, the fruits become dormant for the winter, developing over the following growing season and maturing in the fall, 10-12 months after pollination. Seeds are dispersed by gravity, or are eaten and excreted by birds. Witch-hazel seeds germinate the following spring or enter the seed bank. Early growth is slow, and in fact remains slow throughout the life of the tree in its typical shady habitat. As individuals, witch-hazel probably does not live more than 100 years, but they reproduce from root sprouts, and clones may live for a very long time.

Inkberry - Shamrock - Sale Price: $64.25 Compact Shrub - Ideal as Low Accent or Hedge  The Compact Inkberry 'Shamrock', Ilex glabra 'Shamrock,' is a handsome compact form of the native Inkberry with lustrous dark green leaves. It is slow growing, reaching 3 to 4 feet tall and wide. 'Shamrock' tolerates wet sites. 'Shamrock' is a very nice compact inkberry that has new growth being a much brighter, glistening green, then maturing to the lustrous dark green color. It holds its leaves on the lower branches better than most Inkberry. With maturity, it produces large amounts of dark purple to black colored berries; production really increases after the third year of growth. This Inkberry plant is very useful as accent plantings, as well as for a maintained low growing hedge. Plant in fairly moist, acidic soil that is well drained; mulching recommended.
