Heucherella - Stoplight - Sale Price: $42.75 Heucherella Stoplight, Heucherella 'Stoplight' (PP#16,835), will cause you to stop momentarily to admire its colorful beauty in your landscape! The radiant yellow leaves of Heucherella 'Stoplight' have a large, dark red blotch in the center which feathers out through the veins.  It is an improved version of Heucherella 'Sunspot' (PP#14,825).  Attractive spires of white flowers appear in late spring through early summer. Foamy bells are fairly compact and work well as a clump-forming groundcover.  When you cross heuchera with tiarella, two hardy stalwarts of the shade garden, you get heucherella, another good plant that does well in shade.  Like its two parents, it's all about the foliage with heucherella! 'Stoplight' Heucherella plants make themselves at home in moist but well-drained, organic-enriched soils.  They are a mainstay of vibrant shade borders and fine containers; beloved because they are so easy to grow and their large, colorful leaves are far longer-lasting than any blooms. Grass - Shenandoah Switch - Sale Price: $37.95 The Grass 'Shenandoah Switch Grass', Panicum virgatum 'Shenandoah', has a burgundy-red color to the foliage. This one starts out red in June, by mid-summer it looks like Bloodgrass, and in fall, it is a rich burgundy. The foliage starts out as deep green but takes on the red color thru the summer. The 4' height makes this a good choice for a specimen plant. It is one of the shortest Switch Grass varieties available. Given full sun and average soil, it is a moderate to fast grower. This plant will grow in dry to moist soils or well-drained, loamy, sandy or clay soils with a pH of a neutral to slightly alkaline. In early spring, before new growth begins, cut the old grass to the ground. If you want to divide the clump, do so in the spring. Grass - Fountain - Sale Price: $39.95 The Fountain Grass, Pennisetum alopecuroides, is a showy ornamental, deciduous perennial grass with slender 3 1/2 foot leaves. The silvery-rose flower plumes that resemble foxtails are borne July through September; turns pinkish brown in the fall. Being drought tolerant, it is a Midwest favorite. The cascading, narrow leaves on this plant have a fountain shape. Fountain grass maintains its lovely leaves and flowers through January. Spread a layer of mulch or other organic material 2 to 3 inches deep around the entire plant. Water well, once a week in dry summers.
