Clematis - Warsaw Nike
Clematis - Warsaw Nike Clematis Warsaw Nike, Clematis 'Warsaw Nike', produces mysteriously dark violet-red 5 flowers that have a velvety texture with contrasting golden stamens. The ruffled petals overlap each other and have curled edges. 'Warsaw Nike' is more tolerant of shady sites and poor soils than most clematis. Received the 1990 Word of Recommendation by the judging committee of the Royal Boskoop Horticultural Society, as well as the Silver Medal at 'Planetarium'. Clematis 'Warsaw Nike' needs a supporting structure to grow properly and it is easy to grow with a rich, porous, alkaline soil that has plenty of room for the roots to spread. Prune lightly above the new leaf buds in early spring and remove any dead or weak stems. Best performance is when the tops are in full sunlight and the roots are shaded, but will thrive and bloom in shade. Apply generous mulch or a shallow-rooted ground cover near the base of the vine. This clematis is more shade tolerant than many others, making it a perfect choice for north-facing and dappled-sun gardens. Plant this wonderful 'Warsaw Nike' for its ease of culture, free rebloom, and great beauty! * Easy to grow * Shade tolerant * Luxuriant flowers

Daylily - Blueberry Candy - Sale Price: $54.95 Hemerocallis Blueberry Candy, Hemerocallis 'Blueberry Candy', is a marvelous reblooming plant with fragrant, soft ivory flowers. It has a blueberry colored eye and ruffled petals. ‘Blueberry Candy’ blooms profusely in midsummer and then again in late summer when many other perennials are beginning to fade. Individual flowers last only one day, but since each plant produces many buds, the total blooming time of a well-established clump may last more than a month; attracts butterflies. Use this daylily for color in shrub borders and in perennial beds. Once established, the daylily can be an excellent groundcover on slopes because it has roots that hold soil against erosion. ‘Blueberry Candy’ also makes a beautiful floral arrangement. Divide this daylily every 3-5 years, or when the number of flower buds and the size of bloom begin to decline. Daylilies are some of the easiest plants to grow and are a good choice for any gardener. They will grow in almost any soil and handle drought to wet soil conditions. Use for stand alone plantings, in borders or in mixed containers and tubs. Daylilies can survive many harsh conditions that other plants cannot including: polluted city environments, slopes, poor and dry soils, near pavement that is salted in winter, and under Black Walnut trees (not affected by juglone). Fun to have in your garden, this plant is beautiful and will provide many months of color! * Clumping habit * Hardy * Carefree |
| Hosta - First Frost - Sale Price: $12.99 The Hosta First Frost, Hosta 'First Frost', is a handsome sport of ‘Halcyon’ and begins in spring with deep blue leaves with a gold colored edging. This edging is irregular and just about half an inch wide. Then 'First Frost' evolves to a pure white in summer. The light lavender flowers appear on 28 inch scapes in midsummer. ‘First Frost’ is resistant to pests and puts on a colorful display in your garden all season long. It maintains its outstanding blue color and beautiful edging until the “first frost” in the fall; named a Designer Hosta™ and 2010 Hosta of the Year! Since the foliage spreads 3 feet wide, ‘First Frost’ is a fine size for groundcover, edging, or specimen use. This low care perennial is ideal for shady positions. 'First Frost' grows best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5. Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots.
