Clematis - Duchess of Albany - Sale Price: $42.75 Clematis Duchess of Albany, Clematis texensis 'Duchess of Albany', is a vigorous grower with 2 wide tulip-like flowers. The unique flowers have pink petals with darker pink center bars. This clematis is excellent for late summer color blooming from July thru October; makes a fine complement to a climbing rose. Grow ‘Duchess of Albany’ where the delicate blooms can be admired at close range, such as over a low shrub by a pathway, or in a trellised patio container. It is a modest grower compared to the large-flowering types, yet its height is dependent on the structure it climbs! Clematis Duchess of Albany needs a supporting structure to grow properly but will also grow over large shrubs, over walls, cover stumps, and make perfect cover ups for unsightly service areas. Clematis is easy to grow in a rich, porous, alkaline soil with plenty of room for the roots to spread.  Duchess of Albany is one of the most heat tolerant clematis. Best performance is when the tops are in full sunlight and the roots are shaded, so apply generous mulch or a shallow-rooted ground cover near the base of the vine. Grass - Elijah Blue Fescue - Sale Price: $42.75 The Ornamental Grass 'Elijah' Blue', 'Festuca glauca', also know as Blue Fescue, is a wonderful ornamental grass that should not be passed by. With its bluish gray foliage, the plumes appear overwhelming from June to July. 'Elijah Blue' has a plant height of 12 and spread of 12-24. This grass prefers full sun, but will tolerate morning shade. Combined with blue and purple flowers, such as Salvia and Veronica, it adds color and contrast to any perennial garden. For best results, comb through the plant in winter to remove dead foliage. Keep well watered in hot summer months, especially when becoming established.
