'Pumila' is a dwarf pampas grass with huge 18 inch feathery white plumes. The showy, silvery-cream plumes feel silky to the touch and are perfect for use in dried arrangements. Cortaderia 'Pumila' is a very good grower and much more cold hardy than the species. 'Pumila' thrives in hot, full sun exposures and is especially useful as a specimen along walls and in corners. | Peony - Karl Rosenfield - Sale Price: $71.35 The Peony 'Karl Rosenfield', 'Paeonia', a fall planted bulb, produces magnificent bright red flowers that are stunning in the garden and superb for cut flowers. During late spring-early summer, they fill the garden with fragrance. They also produce superb, long lasting cut flowers. They will bloom 3 to 4 weeks in late spring. The Peony tolerates some drought but thrives in moist, fertile, well-draining soil. If your soil is extremely acid, add some lime at planting time. Plant the roots with the eyes (buds) pointing up and place them 1 below the soil level. Peonies usually take a few years to establish and bloom heavily. For a tidy appearance, remove spent flowers after blooming. After a heavy frost, cut the foliage to the ground and remove from the area. Peonies do not need to be divided and can be left in place for years! Staking is recommended. Peonies attract butterflies and are great cut flowers and borders. They are also deer, rabbit, and squirrel resistant. |
| Clematis - Petit Faucon - Sale Price: $42.75 Clematis Petit Faucon, Clematis 'Petit Faucon', is an extraordinary and unique plant with unusual purple-blue flowers and a compact habit. At first the buds open to twisting petals that have bright orange-yellow stamens. As they mature, the flowers turn to a rich blue around creamy stamens. Even in a hot, dry summer this plant continues to bloom strong! The fluffy white seed heads are beautiful and the combination of deep violet flowers and silvery seed puffs is stunning! Petit Faucon is an extremely vigorous, free flowering, and strong growing clematis. Early flowers appear on the previous season's growth while late summer flowers appear on new growth. Petit Faucon blooms May-June and August-September. Best performance is when the tops are in full sunlight and the roots are shaded, so apply generous mulch or a shallow-rooted ground cover near the base of the vine. It needs a supporting structure to grow properly but will also grow over large shrubs, over walls, and can be used as a container plant. Prune lightly above the new leaf buds in early spring and remove any dead or weak stems. Clematis Petit Faucon is a very reliable performer once established; it takes a season or two to get going. Enjoy this non clinging clematis that blooms until late summer! * Unusual purple-blue flowers * Easy to grow * Extremely vigorous |
