Dogwood - Arctic Fire
Dogwood - Arctic Fire  Ornamental Shrub with Winter Appeal The Arctic Fire Dogwood is a dwarf ornamental shrub with outstanding winter appeal.  Plant one by a front entrance to draw the eye or several as a magnificent shrub boarder.    Your yard in winter will never be the same once you plant an Arctic Fire.  Lovely four foot stems of red fire will seem to capture the winter sunlight amid the browns and grays of your cold landscape.  Deer won’t nibble your Dogwood, so you’ll have plenty of the brilliant stems to bring indoors for a warm accent during those long days of winter.     Even through the winter color is the outstanding feature of this shrub, spring and summer also have their charms.  Tiny clusters of delicate white flowers appear in spring and continue sporadically into the summer months.  Pointy, dark green leaves fill out the shrub through the warm months until they turn a pleasing burgundy in the fall.  As an added treat, berries will appear to the delight of your feathered friends.    The Arctic Fire Dogwood is a fast-grower and tolerant of many soils and conditions.  You won’t have to worry or fuss over it, and wildlife will love it.  Plant one today for some spectacular winter color.    * Winter color * Fast-growing * Spring/summer flowers * Fall fruit and color

Yew - Erecta - Sale Price: $45.65 Beautiful  Compact Hedge Shrub Yew - Erecta, Taxus baccata 'Erecta', is an upright, columnar shrub with a stiff, erect and bushy habit. It has small dark green leaves and the bark is typically reddish brown and the berries, when present, are red. Erecta prefers a moist, slightly acidic soil with a decent amount of light; can tolerate some shade. Erecta is excellent for hedges or as a backdrop in the formal garden. | Rose of Sharon - Blue Satin - Sale Price: $85.65 Rose of Sharon - Blue Satin, Hibiscus syriacus 'Marina' (PP12,680), is a vigorous, bloom-happy shrub. It not only gives you plenty of flowers, but boasts the most beautiful coloring in the Hibiscus world, and just doesn't know when to quit! Blue Satin has larger flowers, better color, more branching, and gives an all-around longer show. You'll love these huge 3-inch blooms, with magenta throats, and an ivory center that complements the strong royal blue tone of the petals. The flowers are very uniform in color, too -- no washed out end-of-season blooms here! A moderate grower, it's also pollution-tolerant. Rose of Sharon prefers full sun and well-drained soil and is very tolerant of heat and drought. It is a fine choice for hot, dry spots where other shrubs are not happy. Keep it well watered during growth. Blue Satin does best in full sun, but light shade is acceptable, especially in far southern or southwestern climates. One's ability to shape Rose of Sharon also makes the shrub a prime candidate for hedges. It is a profuse bloomer and not only blooms late, but leafs out late, as well. You will love the blue flowers with the magenta throat! |
  | Hydrangea - Lime Light - Sale Price: $32.95 Named a Proven Winner. Very few shrubs display pale-green flowers, which are real garden standouts — if you can find them. This extraordinary new Hydrangea has clean, bright, lime-green blooms that look so cool and inviting the heat of mid- to late summer, a definite garden highlight. The sizable flower heads are well-distributed on the plant, almost as if you placed them deliberately. Into the fall, they change to a pleasing deep pink. ‘Limelight’ is a vigorous, dependable shrub and a prolific bloomer you can count on year after year. The Limelight Hydrangea doesn’t care about its soil pH and is substantially more drought-tolerant than other hydrangeas. Exquisite as a cut flower, but can be dried very successfully. It can also be grown in containers. * Lime-Green Flowers! |

It is beautiful when used in a mixed container to create a dramatic focal point, but will need to be moved to the landscape as it matures. Lavender Chiffon grows in any soil unless it is either really wet or extremely dry.  This deciduous shrub prefers full sun and is disease and pest resistant. This is one tough plant, and is able to maintain itself through good weather and poor alike. This elegant, large shrub creates an amazing focal accent in the  landscape. | Barberry - Red Leaf Japanese - Sale Price: $49.95 The Barberry bush or Red Leaf Japanese bush, Berberis thunbergii, is a deciduous shrub reaching up to 24 tall and about 30 wide. The branches are slender, spiny, and small, and the leaves are roundly oval in a deep red to purple color. The small, yellow flowers borne beneath leaves, from April to May, are not showy. Bright red berries can be found along stems from late fall through winter. Ironically, this is never really considered a feature of this plant. Barberry bushes are best located in full sun. This plant is tolerant of many types of soil, but will not do well in wet to very moist soils. As name Barberry implies, this makes an excellent hedge or filler shrub. |
