Ajuga - Burgundy Glow - Sale Price: $42.75 The Ajuga ‘Burgundy Glow’, Ajuga reptans, is a useful ground cover with short spikes of blue flowers. This Ajuga is one of the most popular, forming striking mounds of leaves dappled in green, pink and cream. During the wintertime, Ajuga ‘Burgundy Glow’ develops rich bronze and burgundy tones. Mondo Grass - Sale Price: $56.95 The Grass 'Mondo', Ophiopogon japonicus, is an evergreen perennial which forms a dense clump of grass-like leaves; similar in appearance to Liriope, but finer textured with thinner blades. ('Mondo' actually is a member of the lily family despite its appearance and common name.) The leaves emerge in clumps from a network of rhizomes that grow just below the soil surface.  With age, the clumps will merge to form a soft dense carpet of foliage.  The small light purple flowers appear in summer, but are of little interest since they are hidden in the dense foliage, and so are the small blue-black berries that follow. It can be used as a bed edge or as a groundcover in a shady area.  It is important for erosion control since the dense mat of roots holds the ground well; avoid planting it near moist areas because it will take over! Yarrow - Terra Cotta - Sale Price: $35.65 The Yarrow ‘Terra Cotta’, Achillea 'Terra Cotta', is an upright salmon pink with flowers that age to rusty terracotta orange. The flowers bloom from June through September. With silvery foliage, it is beautiful when planted in front of dark foliaged perennials or mixed with blue flowers. The flower heads are 3-4” wide, with a spread of 18-24” and a height of 36”. ‘Terra Cotta’ Yarrow is excellent for cuttings, fresh or dried, in mass plantings or as a border plant.
