The 4' height makes this a good choice for a specimen plant. It is one of the shortest Switch Grass varieties available. Given full sun and average soil, it is a moderate to fast grower. This plant will grow in dry to moist soils or well-drained, loamy, sandy or clay soils with a pH of a neutral to slightly alkaline. In early spring, before new growth begins, cut the old grass to the ground. If you want to divide the clump, do so in the spring.
