The slender, weeping leaves are silvery-green and turn golden bronze in fall; a silver stripe runs up the middle of the sword-like green leaves. The flowers are white fan-shaped plumes in fall that extend above the foliage. The hardiness, the fine foliage and the spectacular fall colors have made 'Gracillimus' a favorite and very popular for years! Plant in spring or early summer when the soil is warm as the roots will grow only in warm soil. Planting too early in the spring may cause the roots to rot. Lungwort - Cevennensis - Sale Price: $56.95 Lungwort Cevennensis, Pulmonaria longifolia 'Cevennensis', is a clump forming lungwort that is valued by gardeners for its attractive foliage. It features very long and narrow silvery spotted leaves. In the spring, drooping clusters of funnel-shaped, dark violet-blue flowers appear. Lungwort Cevennensis is easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in part shade to full shade, but it prefers cool soils that are moist and humusy. This lungwort is very tolerant of wet, poorly drained soils, so it must have constant moisture and not be allowed to dry out; leaves can depreciate considerably in extremely hot weather or too much sun. Keeping the plant moist will maintain an attractive foliage after bloom and throughout the summer. Lungwort Cevennensis spreads very slowly by creeping roots, and it is best to divide the plants in the fall. Deer resistant.

For a tidy appearance, remove spent flowers after blooming. After a heavy frost, cut the foliage to the ground and remove from the area. Peonies do not need to be divided and can be left in place for years! Staking is recommended. Peonies attract butterflies and are great cut flowers and borders. They are also deer, rabbit, and squirrel resistant.
