Grass - Fountain - Sale Price: $39.95 The Fountain Grass, Pennisetum alopecuroides, is a showy ornamental, deciduous perennial grass with slender 3 1/2 foot leaves. The silvery-rose flower plumes that resemble foxtails are borne July through September; turns pinkish brown in the fall. Being drought tolerant, it is a Midwest favorite. The cascading, narrow leaves on this plant have a fountain shape. Fountain grass maintains its lovely leaves and flowers through January. Spread a layer of mulch or other organic material 2 to 3 inches deep around the entire plant. Water well, once a week in dry summers.
