Brunnera - Jack Frost
The Brunnera ‘Jack Frost’, 'Brunnera macrophylla' PP13859, has frosty silver leaves that offer a brilliant backdrop to the small clusters of bright blue flowers that appear in earliest spring. It adds hard-to-find color and dramatic texture to the shade garden with its bright silver leaves that are veined in deep green.  The foliage is known to resemble cracked porcelain! ‘Jack Frost’ has a plant height of 12-18” and a plant spread of 18”.  It does require full shade in most areas.  In the north, morning sun is tolerated and in the south, dense shade is necessary. This Brunnera is a wonderful perennial to brighten up shady areas and will look great with any shade plant on the market today.  Try a combination of plants with ‘Jack Frost’ such as, hostas, ferns, pulmonarias, and particularly hellebores, which often bloom at the same time!  The silver and white foliage of this Brunnera will lighten the shade and offer superb contrast to the surrounding greens. It does require consistently moist soil, and it does not need a lot of care, being a sure garden pleaser! * Easy to grow * Outstanding foliage * Shade

Coral Bells - Palace Purple - DetailsCoral Bells - Palace Purple - Sale Price: $42.75
The Heuchera ‘Palace Purple’, Heuchera micrantha, also known as Alumroot or Coral Bell, is one of the most popular Coral Bells on the market! Being named Perennial of the Year in 1991, one can see why. With its unique deep purple foliage, fading to bronzy green in hot summers, and its dark red stems, it is a little different than the rest. In the springtime, small pinkish and white flowers appear that last into the summer, however, Coral Bells are not known for their flowers, but their foliage. ‘Palace Purple’ has a plant spread of 10-15” and a height of 12-18”.  It is best to grow it in medium wet, well-drained soils, in full shade. (It can tolerate some morning sun.) ‘Palace Purple’ looks especially good around the edge of borders, near variegated plants, woodland edges, rock gardens, perennial borders, or in mass to form an attractive ground cover. Cold and drought tolerant and withstanding heat and humidity, nothing seems to phase this plant.  ‘Palace Purple’ needs about one inch of water per week; divide clumps in fall. Heuchera adds a bit of flavor to any perennial garden with its texture, vigor, and vibrant color.  Attracting butterflies and hummingbirds, ‘Palace Purple’ will surely become a “must have” as it contrasts dramatically with brighter colors in your garden! * Heat and humidity tolerant * Dark, rich foliage * Low maintenance

The leaves are deep green, coarse-textured and up to 4 inches long. This plant matures at 1 foot tall and 3 feet wide. Homestead Purple is a nice compact plant with a bushy growth habit. Homestead Purple should be placed in full sun in a well-drained soil. Like most fast growing perennials, it responds well to good soil preparation and occasional fertilization. Fern - Male - DetailsFern - Male - Sale Price: $49.95
Fern - Male, Dryopteris Filix Mas, is a clump forming fern found throughout North America and the Pacific Northwest. It has an upright habit and reaches 2.5 feet in height and width with a single crown on each rootstock. The crown of this fern produces multiple plants, so divide the male fern regularly to increase your plants and to keep the symmetry, or allow it to become a large clump of many plants. Either way, the fern provides a grand statement in the woodland garden. It prefers shade to bright shade and moist, fertile, acidic soil. Male Fern is one of the most common ferns of the temperate Northern Hemisphere. It favors damp shaded areas and is common in the understory of woodlands, but is also found in shady places on hedge-banks and rocks.

Coneflower - Magnus - DetailsConeflower - Magnus - Sale Price: $49.95
The Echinacea ‘Magnus’ Coneflower, Echinacea purpurea, also known as Purple Coneflower, Hedge coneflower, and Black Sampson, is an easy to grow flower. It produces beautiful deep purple daisy-like flowers that are a bit larger than the rest of its family.  It was Perennial Plant of the Year in 1998, one can see why! ‘Magnus’ blooms from July to October and is a major attractor to butterflies and bees; deer resistant.  It is a must for any perennial garden.  With its dark green foliage, Echinacea ‘Magnus’ stands 3’ high with a plant spread of 18-24”. For best results, plant in full sun in a well drained area.  The sturdy stems carry the blossoms from midsummer to fall.  The coneflower is known for its large flower heads that turn to seed in the fall.  It is a great choice for cut flowers, and it adds a wilderness look to your garden. ‘Magnus’ usually reblooms without deadheading, but if spent flowers are removed, this procedure will encourage continued beautiful blooms and improves general appearance. This coneflower keeps coming all summer on tall plants with excellent branching.  If you leave some spent blooms on the plants in fall their seeds provide winter food for birds.  You can enjoy the dried seed heads as well, because they will provide architectural interest in the winter. ‘Magnus’ will give you weeks of dependable color, and it provides a striking display with its dark foliage and deep purple flowers! * Dark foliage * Long blooming * Easy to grow

Hosta - Silver Bay - DetailsHosta - Silver Bay - Sale Price: $39.95
Hosta Silver Bay, Hosta 'Silver Bay', is one of the best new blue hostas on the market, and one of the most talked about hostas in recent years!   The heart-shaped, intense, silver blue leaves form an attractive mound.  The leaves are also thick and heavily corrugated.  Pale lavender flowers top the mound in mid-late summer.  'Silver Bay' is a real winner! Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.  Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots.  It is best to keep areas around hostas clear of excess leaf debris to reduce the presence of slugs and snails.  Plant this low care plant in an area that receives the right amount of light.  The leaves need some morning sun to bring out the best coloration; too much sun will burn the leaves.  'Silver Bay' is most at home in shady, woodland settings and often works well as specimen or edging plant. 'Silver Bay' has a great spread of 2-3 feet, filling in your shaded space very nicely; a special plant that should be planted in a very special place! * Blue hosta * Easy to grow * Mounding habit
