Hydrangea - Citylineâ„¢ Rio
Hydrangea Cityline Rio, Hydrangea 'Cityline™ Rio' PPAF, is a small plant that knows how to draw attention and become an exceptional visual standout in your landscape. Cityline™ Rio was developed in Europe, and its strong stems can easily handle the big, heavy, red and white variegated flowers. This great new Hydrangea series from Germany has a tight, compact growth and large flowers. Moisture is a necessity of this plant. Use them in stylish pots or as part of a garden border planting. Make sure you feed generously in spring and autumn to be rewarded with great flower performance. Use lime to intensify the deep colors of the flowers. The blooms can be changed from red to blue by adding aluminum sulfate, and then they change to a beautiful green shade as they age. Flower color is affected by pH. For blue flowers, the soil must be more acidic and for pink flowers soil must be more alkaline. The best time to prune is after it blooms. Zones 5-9. * The strong stems will hold-up the heavy flowers!

Rhododendron - Holden - DetailsRhododendron - Holden - Sale Price: $96.95
The Rhododendron 'Holden', Rhododendron 'Holden', is a compact growing Rhododendron with glossy dark green foliage. The narrow leaves remain dark green throughout the winter. Its rosy-red funnel-shaped flowers bloom midseason and are held in conical-shaped trusses. The flowers are lightly scented. 'Holden' loves to be planted with pre-moistened peat moss, and well-drained soil is a must!! The rhododendron root system is quite fibrous, compact and shallow; roots will rot in poorly drained soil, and this plant will not do well in windy sites. This plant is very fussy about soil conditions and it must have rich, acidic soils to ensure a healthy plant! Consider apply a thick mulch around the root zone in colder climates. Holden is a relatively low maintenance shrub and should be pruned after flowering to avoid removing any current season’s flowers. It likes sun, but requires afternoon sun protection. Consider this rhododendron as a part of the landscape and plant it in a border or foundation planting with other shrubs.
