It displays small yellow flowers in hanging clusters in mid-spring and bright red berries in clusters in autumn. These berries may persist into winter. Korean Barberry has a wonderful, red, fall foliage color that will give you a colorful landscape! It requires full sun to partial shade and tolerates a wide range of soils, except those that are overly wet. Light pruning may be needed to maintain good shape. Use in borders, as a barrier, a hedge, or as a specimen.

Yew - Hicks - Sale Price: $45.65 Yew - Hicks, Taxus x media 'Hicksii', is one of the most popular upright columnar yews. It is a dense, narrow, columnar, evergreen shrub with ascending branching with lustrous dark green needles above and lighter green below. It typically matures to a height of 18' to 20' with a spread of 6' to 10' wide after 20 years; very narrow when young and widening with age. Yews are classified as conifers, but female plants (yews are dioecious) produce red, fleshy, single-seeded fruit instead of cones. Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soils of neutral pH in full sun to part shade. Hicks Yew tolerates a wide range of soils as long as drainage is good. Also tolerant of full shade and considerable pruning, but intolerant of temperature extremes. Use as a specimen, screen, hedge or foundation plant.

Viburnum - Sargent Cranberrybush - Sale Price: $68.50 The Sargent Cranberrybush Viburnum, Viburnum sargentii, is very similar to American Cranberrybush, but will not grow as large. This shrub has beautiful white blooms with a low-to-the-ground branching habit. It will form a large upright, rounded, multi-stemmed shrub. It has a fantastic red fruit display with bright, translucent red drupes lasting well into January.  In the fall, it provides an excellent red-purple color. 'Sargent Cranberrybush' Viburnum is very much like the 'Snowball' Viburnum, except that the leaves are thicker in texture, and it bears fruit. When used as a specimen or patio tree, leave plenty of room for root expansion.  It grows best in full sun or partial shade, in moist, well-drained soil.  Sargent is very vigorous and resistant to aphids.  Will fruit best in sun but will also grow and flower in partial shade. Viburnums add seasonal interest with flowers, colorful fruits, fall color, stem and bark color, texture, and form.  There is always space for a viburnum in any landscape, and this one will look terrific in yours as well!

The Cardinal Red Osier Dogwood was selected for its bright red winter twig color. Cardinal Red is best grown in organically rich, medium wet to wet soils in full sun to part shade but tolerates a wide range of soils, including swampy or boggy conditions. This plant is a hybrid Dogwood that was developed by the University of Minnesota in 1986. It was an NC-7 Trials top-performing plant and it received the 2004 Plant of Merit. Tiny white flowers appear in flat-topped clusters in late spring. Flowers give way to clusters of creamy white fruit in late summer. Fruit is very attractive to birds and is generally considered to have as much if not more ornamental interest than the flowers.
