  Kerria - Double Flowering Japanese Double Flowering Japanese Kerria, Kerria japonica 'Pleniflora', has showy, double, golden yellow flowers that bloom in early spring among bright green foliage. This open, fast growing shrub has yellow-green stems that add color to the winter landscape. It prefers a loamy, well-drained soil. It can be grown in sun or part shade, but does best in full sun. Japanese Kerria is a good shrub that has been used since pre-civil war times. There are few plants that can produce the orange/gold flowers so early in the season.
