Ligularia - Dragon Wings
Ligularia - Dragon Wings The Ligularia Dragon Wings, Ligularia przewalskii 'Dragon Wings', (sometimes called Elephant Ears) produces dramatic, leathery leaves that are 12 inches across and deeply cut like a snowflake or the wings of a mythical creature. During the summer, yellow flowers bloom on slender, dense racemes. The leaves and flower spikes have dark purple stems that add to the drama; deer resistant. Ligularia has a clumping habit and performs best when protected from the hottest sun and the soil is kept evenly moist. It is a bold specimen perennial that forms a mound of large, elegant deeply-cut bright green leaves. The flowers and leaves make wonderful cut bouquets. This plant makes a great specimen, and 'Dragon Wings' looks especially attractive in a container on the patio! * Large, leathery leaves * Yellow flowers * Clumping habit

Hosta - Climax - Sale Price: $42.75 The Hosta Climax, Hosta 'Climax', is a large sport of Hosta 'High Noon' with round leaves that are moderately corrugated. The color of the leaves is a striking medium green and is trimmed with golden yellow margins. Climax presents a more upright habit and a beautiful vase shape with light lavender flowers. Holding its color until late fall, its tall flower scapes, and broad, variegated leaves fill a niche in garden design that few other plants can achieve! ‘Climax’ is a low care perennial that is ideal for shady areas. This hosta grows best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5. Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. High-filtered or dappled sunlight is necessary for clean, healthy growth. Morning sun is tolerable and will help to intensify the leaf colors, but hot afternoon sun is usually deadly to hostas. Hostas also grow well in city environments where the air may be polluted by car exhaust, etc. With its colorful variegated and broad leaves, this hosta will perform until late fall! * Low maintenance * Tall scapes * Vase-shaped form |
