Daylily - Ruby Spider - DetailsDaylily - Ruby Spider - Sale Price: $39.95
Hemerocallis Ruby Spider, Hemerocallis 'Ruby Spider', is one daylily you just have to have in your garden!  It will be a show stopper with immense  9 flowers that are pure, saturated deep red with a golden yellow throat and mid ribs. Being a truly extraordinary form of daylily, its large petals are long and spoon-shaped.  Use 'Ruby Spider' as a marvelous specimen plant, or it can make a grand statement when planted in masses. 'Ruby Spider’ is a dormant tetraploid which means its foliage dies back in winter; this is an important consideration for northern gardeners since 'Ruby Spider' is a great choice for the far north! Individual flowers last only one day, but since each plant produces many buds, the total blooming time of a well-established clump may last more than a month.  Use this daylily for color in shrub borders and in perennial beds; attracts butterflies. Once established, the daylily can be an excellent groundcover on slopes because it has roots that hold soil against erosion.  Divide every 3-5 years, or when the number of flower buds and the size of bloom begin to decline.  'Ruby Spider' makes a beautiful floral arrangement, and is a terrific plant that any gardener can claim as “marvelous”! * Survives in far north * Stunning color * Hardy

Mondo Grass - DetailsMondo Grass - Sale Price: $56.95
The Grass 'Mondo', Ophiopogon japonicus, is an evergreen perennial which forms a dense clump of grass-like leaves; similar in appearance to Liriope, but finer textured with thinner blades. ('Mondo' actually is a member of the lily family despite its appearance and common name.) The leaves emerge in clumps from a network of rhizomes that grow just below the soil surface.  With age, the clumps will merge to form a soft dense carpet of foliage.  The small light purple flowers appear in summer, but are of little interest since they are hidden in the dense foliage, and so are the small blue-black berries that follow. It can be used as a bed edge or as a groundcover in a shady area.  It is important for erosion control since the dense mat of roots holds the ground well; avoid planting it near moist areas because it will take over! 'Mondo' Grass can also be used as an evergreen in planters, either alone or mixed with seasonal annuals for color. ‘Mondo’ has a rich green color that helps to provide definition, allowing the features of the garden to really stand out.  (Its height will not compete with the features of other plants).  Plant this lush, hardy grass with slender blades that requires no mowing! * Dense clumping habit * Mat forming * Groundcover

Clematis - Blue Angel - DetailsClematis - Blue Angel - Sale Price: $42.75
Clematis Blue Angel, Clematis 'Blue Angel™', is a heavenly beauty, a prolific bloomer, and an exquisite climber. One of our favorites! The ruffled petals are sky blue along the edges and get lighter towards the center. The bright yellow stamens contrast nicely with the silky blue 6 flowers. Blue Angel received the Word of Recommendation by the judging committees of the Royal Boskoop Horticultural Society in Holland and the gold medal at 'Planetarium' in Boskoop in 1992. Clematis 'Blue Angel™' needs a supporting structure to grow properly but will also grow over large shrubs, over walls, cover stumps, and make perfect cover ups for unsightly service areas. Clematis is easy to grow in a rich, alkaline soil with plenty of room for the roots to spread. Best performance is when the tops are in full sunlight and the roots are shaded, so apply a generous mulch or a shallow-rooted ground cover near the base of the vine. Cooler soils temperatures increase performance! This plant is a very reliable performer once established; they will take a season or two to get going. Prune this plant after first flowering by cutting back the top one-third to one-half of some stems. * Huge flowers * Attracts hummingbirds * Deciduous plant

The purple flowers attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees to the garden. Bee Balm has a tendency to become invasive, so in order to keep plants healthy and vigorous, division is necessary every few years, and should be done in the spring.  Although it will grow in average soil, it does enjoy the rich organic moist soil along riverbanks.   In spring, remove dead foliage only.  In fall, cut back to 6 and dead-head spent flowers.  Deadheading spent blooms will prolong the bloom time. ‘Purple Rooster’ will offer its extravagant presence when planted in your garden! * Easy to grow * Aromatic foliage * Invasive
