Spiraea - Tor
The Spirea 'Tor', Spiraea betuliflia 'Tor', is a compact spirea reaching a height and width of 2-3 ft. Its tiny white flower clusters are set against a backdrop of deep green leaves that are almost iridescent in the summer. The bright foliage turns a deep, purplish-red in the fall. The flowers are attractive to butterflies. A light shearing will encourage repeat bloom.  Tor blooms on new wood so pruning in early spring or late winter is recommended. Because of its small size and great attributes, Tor makes a wonderful foundation plant.  It can also be used as a specimen or grouped for rock gardens.  This spirea looks fabulous when planted in a mass!  Try using it as a low hedge for paths and walkways too. Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soils in full sun, it also tolerates a wide range of soils. * Colorful foliage * Great attributes * Low maintenance
