Crabapple - Red Barron - Sale Price: $114.25 The Red Barron Crabapple, Malus 'Red Baron', has a narrowly upright, columnar growth habit.  As its profuse red buds open in spring, the tree is draped in striking clusters of fragrant red flowers along the branches! It has dark green foliage which emerges coppery bronze in spring; these pointy leaves turn an outstanding orange in the fall. Red Barron's fruits are deep, shiny red, giving this crabapple its name; fruit is the size of a cherry and ripens early to late fall.  The falling leaves reveal the glorious color of the fruit.  Red Baron has a low canopy with a typical clearance of 2 feet from the ground, and is suitable for planting under power lines.
