Viburnum - Nannyberry
Nannyberry Viburnum, viburnum lentago, is a hardy, upright growing shrub with glossy green foliage that turns red-purple in fall.  The creamy white flat-topped flower clusters mature into small blue-black fruit, which provide winter food for birds. Due to its mild suckering, it becomes more open at maturity, with arching branches. Nannyberry is a large tree-like leggy native shrub that can be pruned into a small tree form. This shrub is good for farmstead windbreaks or a screen plant with year-round interest.  It prefers rich loam to clay loam soil with ample moisture. Nannyberry does well in either full sun or shade and is one of the more tolerant woody plants in shady sites. It grows 20 feet tall and 6-10 or more feet wide.  Pruning is required to remove suckers if a tree form is desired. Viburnum tends to be multi-season plants with ornamental value throughout a large part of the season. * Hardy * Stunning color * Windbreak

Hydrangea - Late Panicle - DetailsHydrangea - Late Panicle - Sale Price: $49.95
The Hydrangea 'Late Panicle', Hydrangea paniculata 'Tardiva', this shrub has white airy flowers that can reach 10-12 in length in late August. The flowers are a mixture of sterile and fertile flowers which gives the flowers less density and less likelihood to tip or droop. Flowers will turn bronze in fall. The flower heads will stay on the plant during much of the winter if conditions are not severe.  These shrubs are fast growing and are great for informal     screens, specimen plants, or for cut arrangements. Cut the flower heads when they are fully open and hang to dry in a warm, airy place. You may prune every year in the fall after blooming, no more than 1/3 of the plant. These plants look best when they are kept pruned to keep them thick at the base. They are hardy and will not need to be covered to flower. Late Panicle is easy to grow and they will tolerate less than ideal soil conditions. * Use this plant in groups, line a driveway, or in a border. * Flowers Late Summer!

Barberry - Crimson Pygmy - DetailsBarberry - Crimson Pygmy - Sale Price: $39.95
Like ‘Concorde,’ Crimson Pygmy is naturally small in stature, just about two feet tall and perhaps three feet wide. It has all of the characteristics you love in a landscape shrub: resistance to disease, deer and insects, and perhaps best of all, considering it’s a prickly plant, no pruning, unless you want to treat it as a topiary or downsize it. Excellent in the landscape border, in Japanese-themed gardens or as a frame for water features. Plant Crimson Pygmy against golds, yellows and deep greens for stark contrast, or as a companion to anything in the pink/rose spectrum for sheer beauty. Full sun, regular watering and soil that’s a bit on the acid side will serve this shrub well. After its root system is large and well established, it will only need watering during periods of drought. Zones 4-8.
