It produces fragrant spikes of dark purple flowers in summer. These flowers produce the purest lavender scent! Being drought tolerant, it is ideal as a short perennial shrub border or as an herb in a kitchen garden. Lavender was selected in 1999 as the International Herb Association Plant of the Year!
